The Problem
Small business owners had trouble designing and maintaining their own Wordpress websites.
The Solution
I developed an online course which included a syllabus, assignments, modules, a project, and a discussion board.
Responsibilities: Curriculum Development, Content Writing, eLearning, Evaluation
Tools Used: Canvas LMS and Adobe Illustrator
Course Development
I worked with the SME before developing the curriculum and outlining the learning outcomes. We considered the fact that small business owners were downloading Wordpress, but had difficulties setting up their website, were unaware about hosting the website, and did not understand the dashboard/controls of their site.
I used my expertise as a web designer as well as researching other functionalities within Wordpress to outline and develop the curriculum. Additionally I structured the content to ensure that it was logical, organized, and easy to understand.

Content Development
Once the syllabus was created, I added assignments, a group project, and written reflection activities for the adult learners.
I added the content directly into the Canvas LMS. Learners were able to complete assignments there, provide feedback, and see their grades upon completion of assignments.
I also added a multiple choice quiz that was timed and graded upon completion.
Additionally, I met with the SME for review, refinement, and feedback.
Learner Discussion Board
A discussion board was part of the learning for the course. I added a video to give adult learners more knowledge about the question. They were then required to provide a written response to the discussion question.
Answers were submitted within the Canvas LMS system.
Course Summary
A syllabus and summary of the course was included for all adult learners. This helped them keep track of assignment due dates.
